About the KCA

Khayelitsha Christian Academy is an informal, community run care centre that looks after the pre-school needs of Mandela Park children in Khayelitsha, who are unable to afford state education. Since 2012, the school's intake has doubled in size due to growing demand in the community. In addition to providing education at this critical stage of early childhood development, the children receive two meals a day and are provided with a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. We currently care for 46 children between the ages of 3 and 6 years.

We rely on the generosity of individual donations and corporate sponsorship to provide vital services needed to run the school. With the increased intake, the school has had to turn to corporate sponsorship to support the expansion needed.

Embrace your inner child - Brighten the Khayelitsha Academy

We're painting the school this October!

Some of you may remember when Saratoga ran a crowdfunding campaign to clean up the school playground. They had planned to follow that up with a mural, but work-life and weather delayed our plans :( At last we’re all going to get to get our hands dirty and to brighten up the lives of the Khayelitsha Academy kids!

SeeSawDo have created incredible designs for the school, which Saratoga staff, KCA parents and community get to bring to life!
